Year 2 Science Lab Visit

On Tuesday 9th October 2018, Year 2 had a very exciting afternoon! This half term they have been learning all about the Great Fire of London.
In science lessons, they have been predicting which materials would have been best to build houses out of in 1666 and they were able to go to King Solomon Academy’s secondary school science lab to test their predictions. The children tested four materials using Bunsen burners to see which were flammable and therefore should not have been used to build houses out of. The children then made the materials wet and tested them again to see if they would still have caught fire quickly had it been raining on the day of the Great Fire of London.
The children had an amazing afternoon conducting a science practical and are now incredibly excited to go to secondary school to be in the science lab again!
